Task: Create your own 30 second video using Sock Puppets to teach students about Internet safety.

1. Use the internet safety handouts to create a script sharing tips about internet safety. Be creative!


3. Tap NEW

4. Select up to 4 characters by tapping on the screen.

5. Tap NEXT

6. Select a background.

7. Tap NEXT

8. Select up to 4 props and scenery pictures

Tip: Yellow means the prop is moveable while recording and red means it won’t move.

9. Tap NEXT

10. Tap the Red Circle button to start recording.

While recording simply tap a puppet and that puppet will lip-synch, tap a different puppet and switch auto lip-synching to it. Move the puppets, props and scenery to animate them while recording.

11. Tap the Red Square button to stop recording.

12. Tap the Red Triangle button to play the video.

13. Tap the DISK icon to add a title and click OK.

14. Tap the SHARE icon.

15. Tap YOUTUBE to send your video to the GES YouTube account.

16. Wait for the video to encode and upload. Use this time to brainstorm ways to use this app in the classroom and the WICR instructional strategies that it could be used with.

17. When you are finished tap the Home icon to return to the opening screen.

18. Push the HOME BUTTON at the bottom of the iPad to exit Sock Puppets.
